How can learners review a collaborative story draft responsibly?

Imagine a makerspace group creating a short illustrated story together. How could learners separate their own ideas, a suggested outline, and the final text they choose to share? I would begin with a one-sentence audience and purpose, then ask each participant to add a scene idea and identify what needs checking. A shared revision sheet could record the writer, the change, and the reason for keeping it.

For an AI-assisted draft, students could compare one generated suggestion with their original notes and highlight anything invented or unsupported. They should avoid uploading private information, check permissions for images and quotations, and decide together how to credit contributions. A facilitator could also offer a non-AI path so the activity does not require everyone to use the same tool.

I am associated with AIWriteBook at ai-book-writer.org/, a tool for planning and drafting editable books. AI assistance helped prepare this hypothetical question; it is not a report of a classroom study. What simple review questions or consent practices have helped your group make collaborative writing more transparent?
